Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cream cheese
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- stick margarine - 1 item
- eggs, separated - 5 item
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- nuts - 1 c
- plain flour - 2 c
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- small can coconut - 1 item
How to make italian cream cake:
Icing:1 (8 oz.) cream cheese1 tsp. vanilla1 stick margarine1 box powdered sugar Cream sugar, margarine and Crisco. Add egg yolks, one at a time. Add flour and soda to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Add coconut and nuts. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold in last. Bake in layer pans for 45 minutes at 350°.Cream ingredients for icing together until smooth. Spread over cool cake.
