- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- stick margarine - 1 item
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- cooking oil - 1/2 c
- plain flour - 2 c
- box confectioners sugar - 1 item
- butter or shortening
- Angel Flake coconut - 1 c
How to make italian cream cake:
Icing:1/2 c. butter or shortening1 box confectioners sugar1 tsp. vanilla1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese Cream margarine, oil and sugar, mixing well. Add egg yolks; beat well. Sift flour and soda; add. Stir in vanilla, coconut, nuts and buttermilk, saving some nuts for topping on icing. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in 3 (8-inch) pans at 350° for 30 minutes.
