  • eggs - 5 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • cooking oil - 1/2 c
  • plain flour - 2 c
  • box confectioners sugar - 1 item
  • butter or shortening
  • Angel Flake coconut - 1 c

How to make italian cream cake:

Icing:1/2 c. butter or shortening1 box confectioners sugar1 tsp. vanilla1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese Cream margarine, oil and sugar, mixing well. Add egg yolks; beat well. Sift flour and soda; add. Stir in vanilla, coconut, nuts and buttermilk, saving some nuts for topping on icing. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in 3 (8-inch) pans at 350° for 30 minutes. Cool before icing.
