Ingredients/Components
- stick oleo - 1 item
- Crisco - 1 c
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 5 item
- flour - 2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- coconut - 1 c
- Frosting:1/2 stick oleo
- pkg - 8 oz
- powdered sugar - 1 lb
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
How to make italian cream cake:
Frosting:1/2 stick oleo8 oz. pkg. cream cheese1 lb. powdered sugar1/2 tsp. vanilla1/2 c. coconut1 c. chopped nuts Cake: Cream together oleo, Crisco and sugar. Add egg yolks, one at a time. Add flour, soda, salt and buttermilk. Beat well. Beat and fold in egg whites. Add nuts and coconut. Grease and flour 3 layer pans. Pour batter and bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool and frost.Frosting: Mix first 4 ingredients together. Add coconut and nuts. Keep cake in refrigerator.
