Ingredients/Components
- water - 3/4 c
- vinegar - 3 Tbsp
- caraway seed - 4 tsp
- oregano - 2 Tbsp
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- bay leaves - 2 item
- green peppers, sliced - 4 item
- whole garlic cloves - 2 item
- rump roast - 4 lb
- medium onions, sliced thin - 4 item
How to make italian beef:
Put meat in Dutch oven; add rest of ingredients on top, except peppers and 2 cups water. Cover and cook 2 hours over low flame, turning occasionally. Take meat out and cool; slice thin. Remove garlic and bay leaves. Add the sliced green peppers and 2 cups water. Simmer for 1/2 hour. Put meat in and simmer another 1/2 hour.Can serve with pepperoncini peppers (however many you want and how hot) and with Parmesan cheese.
