Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • vanilla extract - 1/4 tsp
  • salt - 1/8 tsp
  • egg whites - 2 item
  • cream of tartar - 1/8 tsp
  • crushed peppermint stick - 2 Tbsp
  • individual sponge cake cups - 2 item
  • chocolate-coated peppermint ice cream patties - 2 item

How to make individual baked alaska:

Combine egg whites, cream of tartar, vanilla and salt in a mixer bowl. Beat until soft peaks form. Add sugar gradually, beating constantly until stiff peaks form. Place sponge cakes on a foil-lined wooden cutting board. Place 1 ice cream patty in each cup. Cover each with meringue, sealing meringue to bottom of sponge cups. Sprinkle with crushed peppermint candy. Bake at 500° for 2 to 3 minutes or until light brown. Serve immediately. Serves 2.
