Icebox rolls



  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 4 c
  • shortening - 3 Tbsp
  • cake yeast - 1 item
  • lukewarm water

How to make icebox rolls:

Sift flour, salt and sugar together. Cut shortening in mixture. Add lukewarm water in which yeast has been dissolved. Mix well. Put in refrigerator until 3 hours before needed. Roll out on floured board; cut like biscuits. Dip in melted margarine. Put close together in pan; let rise 3 hours. Bake at 450° until a golden brown.
