  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 3 c
  • plus 1 Tbsp - 1/4 c
  • warm water - 1/2 c
  • egg, beaten - 1 item
  • dry yeast - 1 pkg

How to make icebox rolls:

Combine lard, sugar, salt and milk in saucepan; warm to melt lard. Cool to lukewarm and beat in egg. Dissolve yeast in warm water and add to milk mixture. Add flour a cup at a time, beating after each addition. Do all this in a covered casserole dish. Grease top of dough ball and cover. Store in refrigerator overnight. Make into clover leaf rolls by making 1-inch balls and putting 3 in each greased muffin tin. Cover and let rise about an hour. Bake at 350° for about 15 minutes or until done. Makes 1 1/2 to 2 dozen rolls.
