Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt
- flour - 4 6
- shortening - 1/2 c
- well beaten egg - 1 item
- dry yeast - 1 pkg
- lukewarm water - 1/2 c
How to make icebox rolls:
Mix yeast, 1/2 cup water and 1 teaspoon sugar; let stand 1/2 hour. Mix shortening and remaining sugar together. Add salt and egg; mix well. Add 2 cups lukewarm water and yeast mixture. Stiffen with flour and knead. Let rise. Shape into rolls. Can be kept in refrigerator for 2 weeks.Recipe categories: Breads, Vegetarian, Yeast breads.
