  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • brown sugar - 2 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1 c
  • cream of tartar - 1 tsp
  • flour or less - 4 c

How to make icebox cookies:

Mix first 8 ingredients together thoroughly. Add flour (part at a time) and form into rolls. Chill overnight. Slice and bake on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 325°.
