Ingredients/Components
- milk - 6 c
- cornstarch
- salt - 1 tsp
- eggs, beaten - 6 item
- white sugar - 2 c
- brown sugar more if desired
- or more cream - 3 c
- vanilla - 1 Tbsp
How to make ice cream:
Heat milk. Put together cornstarch and salt with 2 cups milk. Add to hot milk; stir until slightly thick, but do not boil! Pour hot milk over the beaten eggs and sugar; cool. When ready to freeze, add cream and vanilla. Pour into freezer through a sieve. Add more milk if it isn't 3/4 full. Makes 1 1/2 gallons.Recipe categories: Desserts, Eggs/dairy, Frozen desserts.
