Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- milk
- egg - 1 item
- self-rising flour - 1/2 c
- chopped onions - 6 tsp
- self-rising cornmeal - 2 c
How to make hush puppies:
Mix cornmeal, flour and sugar. Add onions, then milk and egg. Mix well. Drop by spoonfuls into hot fat at 375°. When done, they will float. Put on brown paper to drain. Yields about 24 hush puppies.Recipe categories: American, Side dish, Southern u.s..
