Hush puppies

Ingredients/Components

• salt - 1/4 tsp
• egg - 1 item
• self-rising flour - 1/2 c
• hot water - 1/2 c
• small onion, chopped - 1 item
• oil for deep frying - 1 item
• corn meal - 1/2 c

How to make hush puppies:

Mix dry ingredients. Beat egg; add to dry mixture. Add hot water to mixture. Heat oil to a rolling boil. Drop mixture into boil by spoonfuls. They will float to the top of oil; turn over and let brown. Remove from oil and drain on paper towel.
