  • flour - 1 c
  • buttermilk
  • baking powder - 1 Tbsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • chopped onion - 1 c
  • black pepper - 1 tsp
  • hot sauce - 1/2 1
  • corn meal - 2 c
  • whole kernel corn - 1 c
  • corn or vegetable oil - 1 item

How to make hush puppies:

Combine first 6 ingredients in a medium bowl; set aside. Combine egg and hot sauce. Stir in buttermilk. Pour into dry ingredients, stirring just enough to mix. Stir in onion and corn (do not over mix batter). Drop by tablespoon into hot oil. Fry unti
