Hush puppies

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1 tsp
• milk - 1/2 3/4
• salt - 1 tsp
• flour - 1/2 c
• baking powder
• egg - 1 item
• cornmeal - 1 c
• minced onion - 1 c
• chopped parsley - 1/2 c
• oil for deep frying - 1 item

How to make hush puppies:

Combine all ingredients with just enough milk to make a rather stiff dough. Drop by the teaspoonful into deep hot oil (350°) until brown, 3 to 4 minutes. Cook only a few at a time, turning frequently with a slotted spoon. Drain on paper towels and keep warm in low oven while you cook the rest.
