Hungarian goulash
Ingredients/Components
- packed brown sugar - 1 Tbsp
- sour cream - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- water
- oil - 2 3
- dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
- paprika - 2 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 Tbsp
- catsup - 3/4 c
- dash of cayenne pepper - 1 item
- clove garlic, chopped - 1 item
- medium onion, sliced - 1 item
- beef 1-inch cubes - 2 lb
How to make hungarian goulash:
Cook and stir beef, onion and garlic in oil until beef is browned; drain. Stir in 1 1/2 cups water, catsup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt, paprika, mustard and red pepper. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer until beef is tender, 2 to 2 1/2 hours.Shake 1/4 cup cold water and flour in tightly covered container; stir gradually into beef mixture. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly for 3 minutes. Cover tightly. Let stand off heat for 5 minutes, then stir in sour cream. Serve over hot noodles. Serves 6 to 8.
