Hungarian goulash
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- brown sugar - 1 Tbsp
- water
- shortening - 1/4 c
- dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
- paprika - 2 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 Tbsp
- catsup - 3/4 c
- small clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- sliced onion - 1 c
- hot cooked noodles - 3 c
- dash of cayenne red pepper - 1 item
- beef chuck or round, cut into 1-inch cubes - 2 lb
How to make hungarian goulash:
Melt shortening in a large skillet. Add beef, onion and garlic. Cook and stir until meat is brown and onion is tender. Stir in catsup, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, salt, paprika, mustard, cayenne and 1 1/2 cups water. Cover and simmer 2 or 2 1/2 hours. Blend flour and 1/4 cup water. Stir gradually into meat mixture.
