Hungarian cabbage and noodles
Ingredients/Components
- vegetable oil to cover bottom of Dutch oven - 1/4 c
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- chopped cabbage or 1 small head - 4 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- caraway seed optional - 1 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- dairy sour cream optional - 1/2 c
How to make hungarian cabbage and noodles:
Saute onion and cabbage until soft and cabbage is cooked slowly. Stir in caraway seed, salt and pepper. Cook wide, curly noodles as directed on package. Drain well. Stir noodles into cabbage. Add sour cream, if desired. Cook 5 minutes longer, stirring frequently. Makes 6 to 8 servings.(Hillshire Farm smoked sausage is good with this dish!)
