Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 item
- lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
- paprika - 1 item
- freshly ground pepper - 1 item
- plain yogurt - 1/2 c
- can garbanzo beans - 1 oz
- garlic clove, crushed - 1 item
- sesame seed paste or peanut butter - 3 Tbsp
How to make hummus:
Drain can of garbanzo beans; reserve 2 to 4 tablespoons of liquid. Mash beans with 2 tablespoons liquid. Beat in yogurt, lemon juice, sesame paste or peanut butter, garlic, salt and pepper.Or, place all ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Thin with an additional cooking liquid, if necessary. To serve, sprinkle with paprika. Accompany with warm pita bread.
