  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • vanilla
  • vanilla extract
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • eggs, beaten - 3 item
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • all-purpose flour - 3 c
  • powdered sugar - 2 lb
  • salad oil - 3/4 c
  • chopped bananas - 2 c
  • crushed pineapple undrained - 8 oz
  • chopped pecans plus enough to sprinkle on top - 1 c
  • Add eggs and salad oil
  • butter or margarine not whipped kind - 1 c

How to make hummingbird cake:

Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add eggs and salad oil. Just stir. Stir in vanilla, pineapple and bananas. Divide into 3 well-greased and floured pans. Bake at 300° for 30 minutes. Cool 10 minutes.Frosting:2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1 c. butter or margarine (not whipped kind)2 lb. powdered sugar1 1/2 tsp. vanilla Cream cheese and butter. Add sugar and vanilla.
