Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • cream cheese
  • vanilla
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • eggs, beaten - 3 item
  • all-purpose flour - 3 c
  • nuts - 1 item
  • oleo - 1 c
  • salad oil
  • bananas - 2 c
  • box powdered sugar - 1 item
  • can crushed pineapple, undrained - 1 oz
  • nuts 1 for batter, 1 for frosting - 2 c

How to make hummingbird cake:

Frosting:1 (8 oz.) cream cheese1 c. oleo2 tsp. vanilla1 box powdered sugar nuts Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl, adding salad oil and eggs until dry ingredients are moistened. Do not beat. Stir in vanilla, pineapple, nuts and bananas. Spoon batter into well-greased and floured pans. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Mix all ingredients for frosting. Do not ice until cake is cool.
