- eggs - 7 item
- milk - 4 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- dry mustard - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1 tsp
- slices bread - 7 item
- sharp Cheddar cheese, grated - 1 lb
- large onion - 1 item
- hot sausage - 1 lb
How to make hot sausage casserole:
Cut bread up in quarters and place in a greased, large loaf dish. Cook sausage until lose and brown; drain all grease, except 2 tablespoons. Saturate the onion in this. Use half of everything, making 2 layers. Place bread, cheese and onions; repeat.Pour the mixture of eggs, milk, salt, pepper and dry mustard over this. Keep refrigerated overnight and set out for 1 hour before cooking. Bake at 350° for 50 minutes.
