Hot mulled wine
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- water - 4 c
- red wine - 1/2 gal
- brandy - 1/2 c
- whole cloves - 10 item
- cinnamon sticks - 8 item
- lemons, sliced thin - 3 item
How to make hot mulled wine:
In a 5-quart kettle, combine sugar, cloves, cinnamon sticks and water. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil, uncovered, 5 minutes and remove from heat, adding sliced lemons. Let stand, covered, for 10 minutes. With a slotted spoon, lift out the cloves and cinnamon sticks. Add brandy and wine. Simmer until hot. Serve in mugs. Can be stored, covered, in refrigerator.
