Hot fudge cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2/3 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- packed brown sugar - 3/4 c
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour - 1 c
- oil - 1/4 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- hot water
- cocoa, divided - 1/2 c
How to make hot fudge cake:
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, 1/4 cup cocoa, baking powder and salt. Blend in milk, oil and vanilla. Stir in nuts. Pour into a greased 9-inch square baking pan. Combine brown sugar and other 1/4 cup cocoa. Sprinkle evenly over batter. Pour hot water over top. Do not stir! Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool 10 minutes. Cut in squares and invert onto plates. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
