Hot cranberry punch
Ingredients/Components
- water - 1 c
- brown sugar
- salt - 3/8 tsp
- nutmeg - 3/8 tsp
- cinnamon - 3/4 tsp
- allspice - 3/4 tsp
- ground cloves
- can unsweetened pineapple juice - 1 oz
- bottle cranberry juice cocktail - 1 item
- rum flavoring to taste - 1 item
- red food coloring - 1 item
How to make hot cranberry punch:
Combine water and sugar. Place spices in bag and tie securely. Put bag of spices into pot of sugar and water. Bring only to a boil. This syrup can be made ahead of time and keeps well in the refrigerator. Add pineapple and cranberry juice to mixture; mix well. Heat. Add rum flavoring to taste and red food coloring to brighten. Add dots of butter and serve in mugs with cinnamon sticks as stirrers, if desired.Recipe categories: Low protein, Drinks, Low fat.
