Ingredients/Components

  • cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
  • medium onion, diced - 1 item
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • cup brown sugar - 1/4 item
  • pounds ground beef - 3 item
  • teaspoon oregano - 1/2 item
  • quarts tomato juice - 2 item
  • green pepper, chopped and diced - 2 item
  • - 1/2 tablespoon chili powder - 1 item
  • teaspoon red pepper spices - 1/2 item
  • - 12 ounce jar picante sauce - hot - 1 item
  • to 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce - tabasco - 1/4 item
  • tablespoon maple syrup - 1 item
  • cans - 16 ounce, whole tomatoes, chopped - 2 item
  • cans of kidney beans - 2 item

How to make hot chili:

Brown ground beef in a skillet. Drain. Combine all ingredients except kidney beans in a Dutch oven or stock pot. Cook on low for 2 to 3 hours until ingredients are tender and well blended. Add kidney beans to mixture. Cook until thoroughly heated. Can be made in slow cooker or crock pot before adding beans.
