Hot chicken salad
Ingredients/Components
- sour cream - 2 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- can cream of chicken soup - 1 item
- mayonnaise - 2 c
- celery, diced - 4 c
- onion, finely chopped - 2 Tbsp
- slivered almonds - 1 c
- can mushrooms, drained - 1 item
- bay leaves - 2 item
- Cheddar cheese, shredded - 2 c
- buttered bread crumbs
- boneless, skinless chicken breasts - 2 lb
- cans water chestnuts, drained, sliced and then quartered - 2 item
How to make hot chicken salad:
Boil chicken with bay leaves until tender. Remove chicken and chop into cubes. Place in a large mixing bowl. Add all remaining ingredients except cheese and bread crumbs. Mix well. Put mixture into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese and bread crumbs. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.Recipe categories: Chicken, Main dish, One Dish meal.
