Hot chicken salad
Ingredients/Components
- sour cream - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- lemon juice - 2 tsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- diced onion - 1 tsp
- mayonnaise - 1 c
- slivered almonds - 1/2 c
- Cheddar cheese, grated - 1 c
- finely diced celery
- cream of mushroom soup - 1/2 c
- can water chestnuts, drained and diced - 1 item
- whole chicken breasts, cooked and diced - 4 item
- hard-boiled eggs, mashed - 3 item
- can mushrooms, drained and diced - 1 oz
- cans onion rings - 2 item
How to make hot chicken salad:
Mix all ingredients except cheese and onion rings. Place in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Top with cheese. Bake in 350° oven for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle on the onion rings and bake for 10 minutes more. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. This serves 10 people.Recipe categories: Chicken, Main dish, One Dish meal.
