Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 3 item
  • flour - 4 c
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • margarine - 3 Tbsp
  • strong coffee - 1 c
  • honey 1 1/3 c - 1 lb

How to make honey cake:

Preheat oven to 325°. Beat eggs and honey together. Add sugar and mix again. Mix coffee with baking powder, and then add with margarine to the egg mixture. Add baking soda, flour, cinnamon and beat together well. Bake in greased 9 x 13-inch pan at 325° for 55 minutes to an hour.

Traditionally served on Rosh Hashana and Erev yom Kippur, symbolic of our wishes for a sweet year.
