Homemade vegetable soup
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- chicken broth - 6 c
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- basil - 1 tsp
- onion, chopped - 1/2 item
- parsley - 1/2 tsp
- black pepper - 1/2 tsp
- green pepper, chopped - 1/4 c
- dill - 1/2 tsp
- carrots, chopped - 2 item
- medium potatoes, diced - 4 item
- handful uncooked rice - 1 item
- celery stalks and tops - 1/4 c
How to make homemade vegetable soup:
Usually I boil skinned chicken pieces for about 2 hours to obtain broth. Then add other ingredients and you can also add any leftover vegetables like corn, okra, green beans, pinto beans. Bring broth to boil and then simmer for about 1 hour more.Soup lasts well in refrigerator for up to about 1 week. Soup can also be frozen.
