Ingredients/Components

  • can whole tomatoes - 1 item
  • beef bouillon cubes - 2 item
  • small head cabbage, chopped - 1 item
  • medium size potatoes - 5 item
  • carrots, sliced thin - 2 item
  • medium size onion, chopped - 1 item
  • V-8 or tomato juice
  • beef roast blade cut works well - 1 item
  • celery, washed and chopped leaves too! - 1 item

How to make homemade vegetable soup:

Put roast in Dutch oven. Dissolve the bouillon cubes in hot water. Add water just to top of roast. Cook for about 20 minutes (to get good broth) in a 250° oven.

Meanwhile, cut vegetables bite size; add all at once. Add a little more water, if needed. Add salt and pepper. Cook in the oven at 250° for about 4 to 5 hours.
