Homemade spaghetti sauce
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- oregano - 1/4 c
- basil - 1/4 c
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- parsley - 1/4 c
- small onion, finely chopped - 1 item
- bay leaves - 2 item
- fresh garlic - 3/4 tsp
- Parmesan - 1/4 c
- cans Red Pack crushed tomatoes - 4 5
How to make homemade spaghetti sauce:
Saute onion and garlic. Add tomato paste, stirring constantly. When mixed well, pour into very large pot and add crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, parsley and bay leaves. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 2 hours and 45 minutes. Add sugar and Parmesan cheese. Continue to simmer for 15 minutes. Let cool and store extra sauce in freezer.
