Homemade ketchup
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 7 c
- salt - 3 Tbsp
- vinegar - 3 c
- 25 oz
- tomato juice - 2 gal
- sticks celery - 3 item
- hot peppers to taste - 5 item
- medium onions to taste - 4 item
How to make homemade ketchup:
Place vinegar in a large pot and bring to a boil. Add spices, celery, onions and peppers. Turn heat off and cover with lid. Steep for 45 minutes. Take out spices, celery, onions and peppers. Mix liquid with tomato juice. Add sugar and salt. Mix well. Cook mixture until thick.Recipe categories: Sauces, Condiments, etc., Tomato.
