Ingredients/Components

  • cinnamon sticks, broken - 10 item
  • bay leaves, crumbled - 10 item
  • each: oranges and lemons - 4 item
  • each: whole cloves and whole allspice - 1/2 c

How to make holiday spice potpourri:

Peel and cut up fresh peaches. Put into copper boiler. Add sugar to taste. A long ladle is used to push the peaches back and forth. After peach butter has cooked down, it is put into jars for the winter.

I can remember standing over a hot wood stove in summer doing this.
