Holiday pumpkin pie
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- water - 1/4 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/3 c
- ginger - 1/2 tsp
- canned pumpkin
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
- sifted all-purpose flour - 1 c
- allspice - 1/2 tsp
- ground walnuts - 1/2 c
How to make holiday pumpkin pie:
Sift together the flour, salt and ginger. Cut in the shortening. Add the walnuts and mix. Stir in water. Shape into a ball. Roll out on a lightly floured surface to 1/8-inch thickness. Line a 9-inch pie plate with the pastry. Trim and flute the edges. Chill for 15 minutes.Blend the sugar, remaining spices and salt together. Add the eggs, pumpkin and evaporated milk. Mix well. Pour into unbaked pastry shell. Bake at 425° for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350° for 35 minutes more.
