  • sugar - 2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • flour
  • butter - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • egg whites, beaten - 7 item
  • finely grated hickory nuts - 2 c

How to make hickory nut cake:

Sift flour with baking powder. Cream butter and sugar. Add milk and flour alternately to mixture. Add vanilla and fold in egg whites and nuts. Bake at 350° until done. Frost cake with white icing and decorate with halves or hickory nuts.
