Herbed tomatoes
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- salad oil - 2/3 c
- marjoram - 1/2 tsp
- tarragon vinegar - 1/4 c
- coarse black pepper - 1/4 tsp
- snipped chives - 1/4 c
- finely snipped parsley - 1/4 c
- large ripe tomatoes - 6 item
How to make herbed tomatoes:
Peel tomatoes. Cut crosswise in half. Place in deep bowl, sprinkling each layer with seasoning and herbs. Combine oil and vinegar. Pour over tomatoes, tilting bowl so all tomatoes are covered. Cover. Chill an hour or so, occasionally spooning dressing over tomatoes. Drain off excess dressing and arrange tomato halves on a platter. Serves 6.Recipe categories: Side dish, Vegetables, Tomato.
