Heavenly cherry angel food trifle
Ingredients/Components
- confectioners sugar - 1 c
- can cherry pie filling - 1 oz
- softened cream cheese - 3 oz
- toasted chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- angel food cake cubes - 5 c
- frozen nondairy whipped topping, thawed and divided - 8 oz
- cherry liqueur optional - 1/4 c
How to make heavenly cherry angel food trifle:
Place cake cubes in large bowl. Pour liqueur if desired. Let stand 30 minutes. In medium bowl, combine sugar and cream cheese; beat until blended. Reserve 2 tablespoons whipped topping and fold remaining portion into cheese mixture. Stir topping mixture and pecans into cake cubes; mix well.Spoon cake mixture into a pretty crystal bowl. Spread cherry filling evenly over top, or if desired, layer half of cake mixture and cherry filling alternately. Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours. Garnish with reserved topping.
