  • dash of salt - 1 item
  • sliced carrots - 1/2 c
  • sliced celery - 1/2 c
  • cubed potatoes - 1 c
  • cubed American cheese - 3/4 c
  • cubed ham - 1 c

How to make hearty winter soup:

Bring water, potatoes, carrots and celery to a boil; reduce heat. Simmer for 10 minutes, or until vegetables are done. Add remaining ingredients; cook, stirring occasionally, until cheese is melted.
