Hearty potato ham chowder
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- water - 2 c
- paprika - 1/4 tsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- diced onion - 1/4 c
- parsley - 1 item
- whole kernel corn, drained - 1 c
- potatoes, peeled and diced - 4 item
- diced green pepper optional - 1/2 c
- diced ham or Spam - 2 c
How to make hearty potato ham chowder:
In large kettle, melt margarine or butter; add onion and green pepper and cook until tender. Add potatoes, 2 cups water and seasonings. Cover and simmer until potatoes are tender. Make paste of flour and 1/3 cup of water and stir into the potato mixture. Add milk and cook until slightly thickened. Stir in corn and ham. Heat thoroughly.
