Ingredients/Components

  • half and half - 2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • clove garlic, minced - 1 item
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
  • chicken broth - 2 c
  • chopped green onions - 3 item
  • green pepper, chopped - 1/2 item
  • drops Tabasco sauce - 4 item
  • slices bacon - 4 item
  • celery stalks, chopped - 2 item
  • grated potatoes - 3 item
  • cans chopped clams with juice - 4 item

How to make hearty clam chowder:

Saute bacon until crisp in large kettle. Remove and chop. Add onions, potatoes, green pepper, celery and garlic. Add 2 cups chicken broth and seasonings. Cover kettle and simmer 20 minutes. Add clams and juice and half and half; heat until hot. Do not boil. Add chopped bacon. Makes 6 servings.
