Hearty clam chowder
Ingredients/Components
- half and half - 2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 tsp
- chicken broth - 2 c
- chopped green onions - 3 item
- green pepper, chopped - 1/2 item
- drops Tabasco sauce - 4 item
- slices bacon - 4 item
- celery stalks, chopped - 2 item
- grated potatoes - 3 item
- cans chopped clams with juice - 4 item
How to make hearty clam chowder:
Saute bacon until crisp in large kettle. Remove and chop. Add onions, potatoes, green pepper, celery and garlic. Add 2 cups chicken broth and seasonings. Cover kettle and simmer 20 minutes. Add clams and juice and half and half; heat until hot. Do not boil. Add chopped bacon. Makes 6 servings.Recipe categories: Potato, Soups & stews, Chowders.
