Hawaiian meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- hamburger - 1 lb
- cracker or bread crumbs - 1/2 c
- milk - 1/4 c
- onion, chopped - 1/2 item
- cloves garlic, chopped - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1/2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- can pineapple chunks - 1 1/2
- vinegar - 1/3 c
- soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
- small green pepper, chopped - 1 item
How to make hawaiian meatballs:
Mix hamburger, crumbs, milk, onion, garlic, salt, Worcestershire sauce and egg. Shape into 1 1/2-inch balls. Cook in 400° oven in 9 x 13-inch baking dish 20 to 25 minutes.In skillet mix brown sugar and cornstarch. Stir in pineapple with syrup, vinegar and soy sauce. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat. Add meatballs. Cover; simmer, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes. Stir in green pepper. Cover; simmer until tender-crisp, 5 minutes. Serve over rice.
