Hawaiian meatballs
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
- evaporated milk - 2/3 c
- vinegar - 1/2 c
- lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- chopped green pepper - 1 c
- ground beef
- chopped pimento - 1 Tbsp
- can pineapple chunks - 1 item
- Cracker Meal - 2/3 c
How to make hawaiian meatballs:
Mix ground beef, cracker meal, onion, evaporated milk and salt. Roll in flour. Brown meatballs in oil. Drain. Simmer in sauce for 15 minutes. To make sauce, drain pineapple and reserve juice. Measure pineapple juice and water to make 1 c. liquid. Blend with cornstarch until smooth. Stir in vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce and lemon juice. Cook until thickened. Blend in green pepper and pimento. Add pineapple. Simmer 15 minutes with meatballs or sausage in. Enjoy!Recipe categories: Appetizers, Chicken, Main dish.
