Ingredients/Components

  • cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
  • water - 1 c
  • oil - 1/4 c
  • lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
  • dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
  • soy sauce - 3 Tbsp
  • chicken broth - 1 c
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • Minute rice - 1 c
  • onion, sliced - 1 item
  • fryer, cut up - 1 item
  • small green pepper, sliced - 1 item
  • can chunk pineapple with juice - 1 1/2

How to make hawaiian chicken:

Brown chicken, remove and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Drain pineapple and reserve juice. Cook onion for 3 minutes in drippings. Add broth, pineapple juice and lemon juice. Mix soy sauce, cornstarch and mustard; add to hot liquid, stirring until clear and thickened. Add chicken. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes with rice, green pepper, pineapple and water.
