Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- sour cream - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter, melted - 1/4 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- can cream of chicken soup - 1 3/4
- corn flakes, crushed - 1 c
- finely chopped onion optional - 1 c
- shredded American or Cheddar cheese - 2 c
How to make hash brown potato casserole:
In a large mixing bowl combine the shredded cheese, chicken soup, sour cream, chopped onion, 1/4 cup butter, salt and pepper; mix well. Fold in the thawed hash brown potatoes. Turn mixture into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Toss together crushed corn flakes and 1 tablespoon of melted butter; sprinkle over the potato mixture.
