Hash brown casserole



  • sour cream - 1 pt
  • can cream of chicken soup - 1 item
  • small onion, chopped fine - 1 item
  • salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
  • bag of hash browns - 2 lb
  • medium bell pepper, chopped fine - 1 item
  • 1/4 sticks margarine or less - 1 item
  • bacon, fried and crumbled optional - 1 item
  • Cheez Whiz or less - 8 oz
  • corn flakes, crushed fine - 2 c

How to make hash brown casserole:

Mix hash browns, onion, bell pepper; salt and pepper to taste. Place in a 9 x 13 pan. Pour half of margarine over mixture; add bacon crumbles, if desired. Heat and stir sour cream, cream of chicken soup, and Cheez Whiz until mixed good; pour on top of potatoes. Add crushed corn flakes. Add remaining half of margarine on top. Bake at 350° 1 hour or until done.
