Ingredients/Components

  • sour cream - 1 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • melted butter - 1 Tbsp
  • butter, melted - 1/4 c
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • can cream of chicken soup - 1 3/4
  • crushed corn flakes - 1 c
  • finely chopped onion - 1 c
  • shredded American or Cheddar cheese - 2 c
  • bag frozen loose pack hash browns, thawed - 1 (32

How to make hash brown casserole:

In large mixing bowl, combine cheese, soup (undiluted), sour cream, onion, 1/4 cup butter, salt and pepper. Mix well. Fold in hash browns. Turn mixture into a greased 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Toss together corn flakes and 1 tablespoon melted butter. Sprinkle onto potato mixture. Bake at 350° for 1 hour until potatoes are golden brown or until tender.
