Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- beet juice - 1/2 c
- mild vinegar - 1/2 c
- diced or sliced cooked or canned beets - 3 c
How to make harvard beets:
Combine cornstarch, sugar, vinegar and salt. Mix well and slowly stir in beet juice; blend to a smooth mixture. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until sauce is clear and thickened.
