Harvard beets



  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • flour - 2 Tbsp
  • butter - 2 Tbsp
  • water - 1/3 c
  • can beets - 1 item
  • vinegar, diluted - 1/3 c

How to make harvard beets:

Melt butter; add flour and cook slowly, stirring constantly to form a smooth paste. Add vinegar, sugar and water; cook until thick. Place beets in baking dish. Pour sauce over beets. Cover lightly. Place in oven to cook with rest of oven meal.
