Hamentashen
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- oil - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- lemon juice - 2 tsp
- plus 2 Tbsp - 2 c
- honey - 2 Tbsp
- orange juice - 1/4 c
- bread crumbs - 2 3
- rind of 1/2 lemon
- chopped nuts more if desired - 2 Tbsp
- prune butter
How to make hamentashen:
Prune Filling:1/2 lb. prune butter2 Tbsp. honey2 Tbsp. chopped nuts (more if desired)1/2 tsp. cinnamon2 or 3 Tbsp. bread crumbs2 tsp. lemon juice rind of 1/2 lemon For Dough: Blend all wet ingredients. In a separate bowl, mix all dry ingredients. Blend them all together until dough forms a ball. Add extra flour as needed.Cut dough (rolled out) into triangles, place filling (mixed) in center and fold all corners to seal. Put on greased (or Pam sprayed) cookie sheet and bake at 350° until brown.
I usually double recipe!
