Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
  • water - 3/4 c
  • soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • diced celery - 1 c
  • green pepper, diced - 1 item
  • small can mushrooms - 1 item
  • sliced onion - 3/4 c
  • can bean sprouts - 1 item
  • butter or cooking oil - 2 Tbsp

How to make hamburger chop suey:

Heat butter or oil in skillet. Add ground beef and brown lightly. Add water, celery, onion, green pepper and salt and simmer until vegetables are just tender. Add mushrooms, bean sprouts and soy sauce, heat through. Thicken with cornstarch. Serve with rice.
